This is a dark and twisted retelling of Alice in Wonderland and not for the faint of heart. There are no happy endings here. But if this is up your alley, you will devour this almost immediately like I did.

Another brilliant story written by Addison Cain. I continue to be floored by her creativity, dark imagination, and compelling storytelling/writing style.

Delightfully Horrible

Addison Cain can weave such a beautiful nightmare. This is a dark read. A twisted "courtship" and a twisted HEA for the heroine(victim?). I highly recommend if that is your genre and if not, I warn you away. Adison is too good at her craft.

Alice is a wonder. She's not the same girl as her namesake, the curious girl, Alice of the infamous tale. Alice is not curious. She does not seek adventure. She does not seek greatness. She seeks only peace, love, affection, and mostly, sleep. Tormented by creatures of the midnight hour, unseen and unheard by any others, she is driven to an incurable madness. The red lady, the tweedles, the chesire, the hatter, each pays Alice a visit in the night, each offering a different torment. Just when yo ...more

Madder than a March hare...

What a fun little read. The White Queen takes everything you learned about Alice and her Wonderland adventures and twists it into a macabre retelling. Not for the faint of heart, Addison Cain creates an horrific world where nightmares frolic freely.

It's very rare that I find an author that can write multiple genre's well, but leave it to Addison... it doesn't matter what she's writing, it's bound to suck you in and leave you begging for more. I can't say I'm much of a horror genre fan, but hot dang, I gobbled up this story. As with everything else she's written, Addison's world building skills don't disappoint in The White Queen. What a unique and twisted short story. This is definitely one of those books where you are going to finish it a ...more

It has been a few hours since I finished this book and what can i say.. It is a Addison Cain book.

I kept thinking poor Alice. She is unwanted and unloved all her life. She knows no kindness.

It is a dark, disturbing and very sad story.

The White Queen is a dark and twisted vision of the traditional Alice in Wonderland. Addison Cain is a woman who knows how to toe the line with darker plots. If you are wanting to test the black waters of darkness then I suggest The White Queen. It's dark enough for those who are new to the genre, and those who enjoy the darkness this is just a delightful taste of Mrs. Cain's work.

“Is Alice as mad as the Hatter?”

I received an Advance Reader Copy for The White Queen written by Addison Cain and voluntarily reviewed this book. Only from this author can this twisted version of the innocent Alice in Wonderland come to be. It is dark and will jab and linger at the recesses of your minds. Alice grew up in well-to-do society as sweet and innocent as can be, but her parents cannot believe the tall tales she tells. So what is worse than not being b
