An FBI serial killer book, interesting characters, that I liked for the Chicago setting.

Some of the best mystery-thriller Chicago books are authored by Sara Paretsky--suggesting readers start with those if they haven't already read them.

A killers mind is an amazing thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. I love that the story is told from all points of view, from Zoe Bentley (profiler), the FBI agent, to the killer and even the victims, this give a truly excellent and well rounded account of the crimes and detective work. I feel this is how all thrillers, crime, and mysteries should be written.

I found the characters endearing and made you care what was going to happen to them next, the story draws you in with

I purchased this book entirely on a whim when it was offered to me for 99p by Amazon as one of this month’s “Amazon First Reads”. I had never heard of this author but both the description of the book and the editor’s notes just grabbed me and I really felt I had to give it go. Sometimes the books on offer for a discounted price are not always my taste, but this one was just brilliant. The story itself, about a serial killer who embalms his victims after stabbing and strangling them is both gory ...more

This was a Kindle First book that I enjoyed. 3.5 stars bumped up because the suspense kept me reading and I was engaged throughout. This book, about serial killers had two mysteries going on. Zoe, a forensic psychologist, had been living in a town where three girls had been killed. Zoe was fourteen at the time and was convinced the police had arrested the wrong man. It seemed a little odd that she was playing teenage detective and she did a lot of stupid things. Fast forward and now Zoe is a con ...more

It took me a while to get into this book, and I'm not sure why. But once I did get into it, I was hooked, and read the last three-quarters in one sitting.

I really wanted to know who the killer was, and why he was doing it, which is what a mystery is all about, and I wasn't disappointed. Nor was I able to figure it out; in fact, I was quite surprised at the "reveal."

Zoe and Tatum are likable characters, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them.

One of my few complaints is that the p

I thought this was a very solid thriller and would certainly read more books in the series. Zoe Bentley is an intriguing character. (Her partner, not quite as much...although his grandfather is a hoot--more scene time for him in the future, please!) I liked the flashbacks to the past. (Bit reminiscent of Lovely Bones, but not too much.)

My one beef is the title. I get that it's totally appropriate for the subject matter (given the career of our heroine.) However, it's super forgettable and could

A KILLER'S MIND

I loved this book, it was my pick of the Kindle First books for July- I did not even have to agonize over the choices this month, loved the brief description.

Zoe and Tatum make a great team, albeit not exactly willingly. There is a lot of humor spread throughout the pages making this a fun read even though it's about a serial killer. Looking forward to the next book.
